Fine remnant stand of native kauri and
broadleaf forest at North end of Orewa.
Lower track beside Nukumea Stream to
Puriri Park (private) suitable for wheel
chair. Good examples of kauri and puriri.
Pa site at Hillcrest Rd entrance. 30-45
mins.
Amorino Reserve
S.H.1/Hibiscus Coast Highway, Red Beach.
Reserve walkway beside Orewa Beach Estuary mouth
linking with surrounding residential streets.
Also
the start of the ‘Coastal Walkways’ of
Whangaparaoa Peninsula. Connect next section via
Rosario Cres and accessway to Walton Rd. Follow
signs.
Arkles Bay Clifftop
Ladies Mile – Arkles Bay.
Short clifftop walk from Ladies Mile/Whangaparaoa
Rd intersection to Arkles Bay beach through
coastal bush. Steep flight of steps at Arkles
end. 5-15 mins.
Fairhaven Walk
Wade River Rd, Arkles Bay.
Rough dead end walking track off end of Wade
River Rd past Boat Club on banks of Weiti River
flanked by native bush with some big puriri
trees. 30-45 mins.
Ferry Road Reserve
Ferry Rd, Arkles Bay.
Short reserve walk through coastal bush to
foreshore of Weiti River near mouth of river.
Timber steps at top. Watch slippery rocks on
foreshore. 5-15 mins.
Fisherman’s
Rock/Pacific Parade
Fisherman’s Rock Reserve, Army Bay.
Coastal clifftop walk from Fisherman’s Rock
Reserve to eastern end of Pacific Parade. 2
clifftop staircases and stone ramp provide
access onto rocky foreshore. Access between
Fisherman’s Rock Res and Pacific Parade Res via
foreshore restricted at high tide. 60-90 mins.
Gulf Harbour
Shakespear Rd – Gulf Harbour Drive, Gulf
Harbour.
Walkway network in progress as Gulf
Harbour Estate develops. Network
utilises reserves, roads and through the
golf course. Range of shorter to longer
walks.
Little Manly Beach
South Ave – Little Manly Beach, Little Manly.
Short reserve and clifftop walk from South Ave
to beach. Seat on lookout point. 5-15 mins.
Mahurangi Regional Park
Is made up of Mahurangi West, Scott
Point and Mahurangi East which are
separated by two arms of the Mahurangi
Harbour. Mahurangi West consists of the
beautiful Sullivans Bay and isolated Te
Muri beach. Mahurangi East is accessible
only by boat. Scott Point has the grand
historic Scott homestead.
Manly Beach to Tindalls
Beach
Brown Street – Tindalls Bay Road, Tindalls Bay.
Extension of the ‘Coastal Walkways’. From end of
Brown St, along beach (restricted at high tide)
to boat ramp. Cross footbridge by shed to
accessway to The Crescent. Follow road round to
Crown Reserve to Tindalls Beach. 15-30 mins.
Okura Walk
Duck Creek Rd – Haigh Access Rd, Stillwater/Redvale.
Coastal walk between Weiti and Okura Rivers.
Usual walk to historic Dacre cottage (composting
toilets alongside) and return. 2-2.5 hrs from
Stillwater through muddy pastures and along
foreshore. 3-3.5 hrs from Okura through Scenic
Bush Reserve. Boots required.

Parade Reserve
S.H.1/Hibiscus Coast Highway, Orewa Beach.
Paved walking trail along northern half of
beachfront reserve. Runs from Arundel Reserve at
north end to town centre by traffic lights.

Orewa Beach Township.
‘Oval’ walkway. Start from South Bridge to
Centreway Reserve, cross road into Grant Park,
along Hatton Rd through Victor Eaves Park to
link with Eaves Bush returning to South Bridge
via Orewa beachfront. Follow the blue
footprints. 2hrs approx.
