Hospice Exh 2015 posterHibiscus Hospice 10th Annual Art Exhibition & Sale, Estuary Arts Centre, Orewa, 7pm-9pm

The Hibiscus Hospice 2015 Art Exhibition and Sale promises to be one of the best yet with over 300 works for sale or auction, more than 70 artists including a dozen new artists as well as our favourites from previous years.

Alongside works using oils, acrylics, watercolours and graphite on paper, canvas and board, we have works on oars, zincalume and steel. We have ceramics for indoors and outdoors, prints, photography, glassware and jewellery.

There is something to suit every taste and every budget with works ranging from $30 to over $3000
The 10th annual art exhibition and sale is on from Friday May 29th throughout Queen’s Birthday Weekend to Monday June 1st

It opens with a ticketed preview and auction on the evening of Thursday 28th May. Tickets are available at www.hibiscushospice.org.nz or by phoning hospice (09) 421 9180.

The exhibition will be held at the Estuary Arts Centre, 214B Hibiscus Coast Highway, Orewa.  
Opening hours on Friday, Saturday and Sunday are 9.00am – 4pm and on Monday, 9.00am – 2pm. Entry on these days will be by gold coin donation.
On Saturday 30th May, as well as the art exhibition itself, between 10am and 4pm there will be additional 10th birthday celebrations for visitors to enjoy. These include lucky dip “birthday gifts” and a display and sale of other “arts” including the art of children, the art of guided tours and the arts of cake making, knitting, mosaics, needlework, preserving, quilting, recycling and woodturning.

The Hibiscus Coast Orchid Society meets on the second Sunday of every month (except January) with meetings starting at 1.30 pm and usually lasting a couple of hours.

The meetings always include a guest speaker, raffles and a cuppa, along with the usual club business. Visitors are always welcome. No music theory needed, and contrary to popular belief, most people CAN sing!!  You will be singing in harmony in minutes. The health benefits are huge, wonderful community, come and try us out. We are different from a traditional choir and sing world, gospel, folk, pop and trad. The Hibiscus Coast Quilters meet twice a month (except for January). Visitors are always welcome. Members can attend either or both meetings each month. The club also produce a monthly newsletter which advertises other events, demonstrations and classes.

 provides a Time Out morning on the fourth Tuesday of each month; the next one is 22 Oct. Time out runs from 10.30 -1.30 with morning tea and a light lunch being served.
