Hibiscus
Coast Presbyterian Parish Celebrating
a Presbyterian presence since 1862
The Hibiscus Coast Presbyterian Parish was formed on 1
February 1951. The parish covers the Hibiscus Coast from
Waiwera in the north to Dairy Flat in the south and extends as
far west as Wainui. This parish is part of the Presbyterian
Church of Aotearoa New Zealand and belongs within the
Presbytery of the North Shore.
St
Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Orewa
is situated at 105 Centreway Road, Orewa. The contact

St
Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Whangaparaoa
is situated at 48 Waiora Road, Stanmore Bay. The contact
telephone number is (09) 424 4982.
Regular services of
worship are held in the parish each Sunday.
Services are normally held each week in St. Andrew's Whangaparaoa at
9.30 a.m. and in St Andrew's Orewa at 11.00 a.m. Services are normally
held in the Wainui Settlers' Church on the 4th Sunday of each month at
2.00 p.m. Sunday School is available for children during the service
times at Whangaparaoa and at Orewa. Baptisms, weddings and funerals
take place as required by arrangement with the minister.
The
Wainui Settlers' Church
is located at the far end of Wainui Road just before the
intersection with Waitoki Road. This church was established in 1862
through the generosity of the Lamont and Hellyer families and is
constructed from a single kauri log. The church building is
registered as Category II on the register of Historic Places under
the Historic Places Act 1993.
