This site was set up by the Ministry of Economic Development to
provide opportunity for business owners, operators and people
interested in business to express their opinions on proposed or
existing government regulations. The website will also notify
people on the database of relevant public consultation
documents.
The CENTRESTAGE
was designed principally as a venue for "live theatre", and
performs this Function very successfully, supplying the Hibiscus
Coast with highly professional entertainment at reasonable prices.
It also acts as a venue for various functions such as public
meetings, seminars, pageants, promotions, weddings, and private
functions of all sorts.

There are areas available for
occasions of all types from small committee type meetings in the
"Iongroom" for up to 20 persons; the Mezzanine, which will
cater for up to 60 seated.
The
Foyer, capable of seating 120 or 200 standing (as for a wine and
cheese Function); and finally the Auditorium itself, which seats
214 in comfortable raked seating, with plenty of leg room, and
perfect sighting from any seat.
A fully equipped modern kitchen and bar is available for self
catering by hirers, and full box office facilities are
available.
The theatre draws its
audience
from
the ever growing Hibiscus Coast population, along with a large
patronage from Wellsford in the north, to East Coast Bays
in the south,
and the theatre management endeavour to ensure that a variable mix of
entertainment is planned to avoid the possibility of any type of art
form being over exposed.
Centrestage
Theatre Company,
who operate the venue on behalf of
the
Orewa Theatre Trust perform three major musical productions each
year, and the management obtains various "one night''
performances of ballet/choral/ orchestral and variety shows,
normally two per month.
The theatre is open Monday to Friday
between the hours of 10am and 2pm, when staff are on hand to discuss your requirements.
