Children must bring the following items each day: Clothing suitable for play, comfortable shoes, change of clothes, raincoat, sunhat, sun block and a bag (preferably a backpack so hands are free) on trip days. All food and drink required for the day, including morning and afternoon tea. When we are at the centre, we can do hot lunches for the children, e.g. noodles, pies etc. It is a long and busy day for the children, especially for those staying until 5.30 pm. Children seem to get extra hungry, often eating most of their lunch at morning teatime and having nothing left later in the afternoon, so please ensure your child has plenty. All items above are required every day. Watch the information whiteboard in the porch entrance, as requirements for each day will be advertised here, including departure times for trips. Childcare Subsidies are available through WINZ. These are quite generous, so please feel free to make enquiries about them. You can apply for the subsidy a month before the holidays start. For further information about these phone the Community House office on (09) 426 3598, or phone the Childcare on (09) 426 3590 between 2.45 pm and 5.30 pm. Bookings are open from 8 September 2010.
