The current membership fee collected from both the Orewa
commercial and light industrial areas is .001637c per $1 of land
value. The land value is printed on your Rates Demand.
LEVEL TWO
For accommodation business the annual fee is $500 + GST or $9.61
a week.
HOW DO I PAY THESE
MEMBERSHIP FEES?
The fees are collected every quarter by the Rodney District
Council, they will be included in your Rate Demand. The total
amount collected is returned each quarter to Destination
Hibiscus Coast (with no deductions) so that it can be used to
promote and represent businesses within the zone.
CAN THE FEES INCREASE?
Yes, ONLY if members approve an increase. It would
require a successful resolution at the Annual General Meeting
and approval from Local Government. Generally the fee is
inflation adjusted however there may be circumstances where
members recognize a special opportunity that hold high potential
to increase sales or promote the area. In these circumstances
the members might decide to increase levies to achieve a certain
goal or take a position.
